Sad loss of Youth Volunteer

Village Power has set a focus on the development and support of youth in the Masakhane community as one of their aims for 2010. Sadly, our youth Volunteer, Nhlanhla Ngidi, was killed during a robbery at the school where Nhlanhla worked as Night Security Guard. Nhlanhla will be sorely missed by the people of Masakhane and the Village Power team.

Small ways in which you can make a difference:

Thank you to Louisa Staude and Cobi van der Smidt for their support in providing the high school children with dictionaries.

This group has now expressed the need for scientific calculators. These calculators cost about R 50-00 each and can be purchased at most stationary shops. Alternatively please contact Sonja van der Vyver on 083 999 5017.

The soccer team at Masakhane are in need of some soccer clothes. This is a great way of showing that your bussiness cares about youth development in poverty stricken communities. Click on ADULT DEVELOPMENT in teh side bar and scroll down to the soccer pledge post to read the pledge from the captain of the soccer team at Masakhane.

Untill next time, take care
